FAIRLEY REMBRANDT 1980 -2005 A LEGEND IN HIS LIFETIME The day Rembrandt was born out of the beautiful Fairley Melissa by the legendary Keston Royal Occasion we all adored him. Little then did we realise the success story he would become. Rembrandt as a youngster was a dream to show never letting me down winning many Championships including the Royal of England and Champion at the Royal Welsh. At 4 years old ridden by the charming 9 year old Antonia Sandison he was Champion at both the West Midland and the Ponies of Britain Stallion Shows. He then retired to take up Stud duties until at the age of 11 he represented Great Britain at the famous Burghley Horse Trials ridden by 9 year old Ami Wiggins. Youngstock by Rembrandt have had many successes. In 1988 Fairley Leonardo came over from Ireland and swept all before him being All British Champion and Blue Ribboned Champion at the British Show Pony Championships as before him did the fabulous Wrigley Puccini. He also sired Ardenhall Royal Secret, three times winner at the Horse of the Year Show being twice Supreme also his sons the elegant Fairley Tempest along with Fairley Temptation both now in Australia. Sandra Donovan nee Fitzgerald had the vision to use Rembrandt for frozen A1 in Australia, what a success story. In 1999 Masterpiece of Astral, ridden by Kim Durante, became the first ever, by frozen A1, to be Supreme Ridden at Melbourne Royal. In 2004 Silkwood Renaissance Supreme Pony of the Year 2005 Paint the Stars of Astral became Champion Ridden at the Grand National. There are many other beautiful Champions both in the U.K. and Australia.
Rembrandt will be sadly missed. His box remains empty as do our hearts. Farewell our beloved friend. Jon & Edna Careless
